1. Who we are
HUMANOVA โ Centre for Applied Human Innovation is a non-profit association registered in the Canton of Geneva, Switzerland (art. 60โ79 Swiss Civil Code). We operate the platform at humanova-geneva.org.
We are the data controller for all personal data collected through this platform.

2. What data we collect and why
When you create an account
- Email address and name โ to create your account and send you important updates.
- Password (hashed, never stored in plain text) โ to secure your account.
When you apply for membership
- Name, email, organisation โ to process your membership application.
- Payment data โ processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
- Membership records kept 10 years for Swiss accounting law compliance.
When you submit a project
- Project details and documents โ to evaluate your application for HUMANOVA support.
- AI-assisted screening may process your submission text (never your personal contact details).
When you browse the platform
- Usage data and logs โ pages visited, features used, crash reports. Used to improve the platform.
- Device information โ browser type, OS version. Used for technical support.
3. Who we share your data with
We do not sell your data. We share data only with service providers who help us operate the platform:

All providers are bound by data processing agreements (DPAs). We may disclose data if required by Swiss law or a court order.
4. How we use AI
HUMANOVA uses AI (via Anthropic's API) to assist with impact screening and project evaluation.
- We send only the minimum necessary data โ project descriptions and submitted text โ never your name, email, or payment details.
- Anthropic operates under a zero data retention agreement โ data is not stored after processing and not used to train models.
- No automated decisions with legal or significant effects are made without human review by the HUMANOVA team.
5. Your rights
Under Swiss law (nLPD, in force since 1 September 2023), you have the right to:
- Access โ request a copy of all data we hold about you.
- Rectification โ ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Erasure โ request deletion of your account and data (actioned within 30 days).
- Portability โ receive your data in a machine-readable format.
- Object โ opt out of marketing communications at any time.
- Complaint โ lodge a complaint with the FDPIC: www.edoeb.admin.ch

6. How long we keep your data

7. How we protect your data
- All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest.
- Database access is restricted to authorised HUMANOVA team members only.
- Row-level security (RLS) ensures users can only access their own data.
- We follow privacy by design โ collecting only what is strictly necessary.
- In the event of a data breach, we will notify affected users and the FDPIC within 72 hours as required by nLPD.
